Power Output/Charging Rate
Most EVs can be charged to 100% in under 8 hours with the Hypervolt, making it quite an efficient option. This is slightly lower than the 7.4kW capability of other chargers on the market.
CONNECTOR TYPE
The Hypervolt Home 2.0 is a tethered model electric car charger. The tethered cable can be stored behind the device itself for clean storage, much like a garden hose. The standard cable is 5m long.
Extension cables can be added on purchase for an additional cost. The 7.5m cable can be purchased for around £40 extra. The 10m cable can be purchased for an additional £90. This will vary depending on your supplier.
There is also a holster available for the charger head, for your convenience. Finally, the Hypervolt 2.0 can be wall or pole-mounted, depending on your needs.

DESIGN
No matter which colour you choose, you’ll get the same sleek, thin model with a LED ring around the edge of the device.
The ring changes colour to let you know the status of the device, and there’s also an LED lightning bolt feature as well. In tandem, they showcase a fun little light display when the Hypervolt is first installed!
LED Colours, And What They Mean
The Hypervolt has an LED ring that changes colour to indicate what the charger is doing. Here’s a quick guide to the colours:
No light: An absence of any light means that the unit is off! There’s most likely no power currently supplied to the Hypervolt. If that’s not the case, it may be that the light brightness has been set to 0%
Blue: Standby, ready to charge- The Hypervolt is ready to charge at any time.
Purple: Scheduled charging- The Hypervolt is ready to charge, but will only do so at the scheduled time.
Green: Charging- Your vehicle is currently being charged.
Red: Fault- A fault has occurred. The Hypervolt will send an alert to their tech team.
Orange: Unit locked- The unit can be locked, so it cannot be used. Perfect while you’re on vacation.
White: No internet connection.
It’s helpful to note that the lights can be dimmed or turned off, so they won’t keep your neighbours awake!
Connectivity?
Quality of life features, such as the app and the voice connectivity capabilities, operate via WiFi.
The Hypervolt does not have an option for a 4g connection via a sim.
Earth Rod Built In
Instead, it has built-in PEN protection, which helps to keep the charger safe from electrical surges.
This prevents accidental electrical shocks, and protects users from being exposed to live electrical currents if a power outage does occur.
WHO ARE HYPERVOLT?
This is why Hypervolt has opted for an affordable, sleek, easy-to-use EV charger that works for the customer.
They’ve embraced the convenience of modern computing, and aim to meld intuitive software with elegant hardware components.
The Hypervolt app, Cloud, and Alexa integration all work together to take the hassle out of managing your EV charger by bringing it right to your fingertips.
Hypervolt makes it easy to keep your electric car charged and ready to go at any time! Hypervolt Website
IS THE HYPERVOLT SOLAR COMPATIBLE?
However, it’s important to keep in mind that the average solar panel system setup in the UK can only generate between 3.5-4kW, as opposed to the normal capacity of 7kW provided by the main power supply.
As a result, your car will take longer to charge- but really that’s just the price to be paid of being more environmentally-conscious.
So, if you’re looking to do your bit for the world, the Hypervolt is a great option!
CHARGER SCHEDULING
Simply plug in your car when you get home, and the Hypervolt 2.0 will do the rest automatically!
APP CONTROL
With these platforms, you can easily schedule charging, change the LED brightness, control solar charging, and lock or unlock the device.
Not only will you be able to have real-time energy and cost information, but you’ll also be able to view extensive charging analytics to work out the best ways and times to charge.
The Hypervolt App and Cloud will also let you keep track of load management events, providing you with the knowledge to plan how and when to charge your car.
LOAD BALANCING
The Hypervolt 2.0 comes with a built-in load-balancing system, so you can rest assured that adding an EV to your home won’t overload your circuits.
This is an important feature, particularly when managing the load between solar panels and the rest of your appliances.
VOICE CONTROL
With this handy feature, you can schedule charging, check the current status, adjust the brightness of the LED- and even more, with just a few simple commands.
Check out some of those commands on the Hypervolt website, and give them a try!
